KidsTime Workshops give children and families the space to talk openly about mental health problems, learn together and build resilience — all through a creative, whole-family approach.
If you’ve seen the impact they can have, you might be wondering how to bring one to your own setting. We’ve developed a flexible, well-supported model that allows local authorities, NHS services, charities and other organisations to deliver KidsTime Workshops in their own communities with everything they need to do it well.
WHO CAN SET UP A KIDSTIME WORKSHOP?
You don’t need to be a mental health specialist, but you do need to be an organisation already working with children and families. That might be a local authority, an NHS trust, a voluntary sector provider or a multidisciplinary partnership. We’ll work with you to make sure the model fits your context, your community and your team.
WHAT DOES THE PROCESS LOOK LIKE?
We use a licence model to keep the quality of KidsTime Workshops high, wherever they’re delivered. When you come on board, we’ll provide everything you need to get started, including training, consultancy and ready-made resources. We can also help you present the model to internal teams or funders and talk through what setup could look like in your area. The licence includes:
- A comprehensive training package
- A full set of workshop manuals, guides, templates and resources
- Membership in our national community of practice
WHAT ABOUT FUNDING?
You’ll need to secure funding locally to run your workshops, but we’re here to support that process. Most costs relate to staffing, which can sometimes be absorbed into existing roles. We can provide a sample budget and help with funding applications or internal business cases.

What our partners say
“KidsTime is one of the few programmes that takes a whole-family approach — helping children make sense of what’s happening and giving parents the support they need too.”
Paul Angeli, Former Assistant Director, Richmond & Wandsworth
“Our Time Charity helped us adapt the model for our setting and even supported funding bids. Families tell us the sessions have become a vital part of their lives.”
Conny Kerman, Systemic Family Psychotherapist Lead, Barnet CAMHS
“KidsTime gives children permission to talk, and helps parents feel less alone. Running it through our Family Hubs has made it visible, accessible and part of everyday support.”
